There's lots to think about when starting University, and registering with a GP surgery should be one of them.

It is important to register with a doctor as soon as you are at University as you never know when you may become ill and need a doctor. If you haven't registered at a GP but need an appointment, this may cause delays for you receiving support when you need it.

You could register at one of the NHS doctors surgeries listed below. You may be required to take identification in the form of a utility bill, passport or driving licence with you when you go to register.

Unidocs

  • Register online here by completing a short questionnaire.
  • Register in person from 09:00 - 15:00 until 27/09/2019.

Highfield Health

  • Register online here by completing a short questionnaire.
  • Download an application form online here.
  • Visit the surgery to receive an application form.

St Clements Surgery (Winchester)

  • Download a registration form here and take it to the practice.

Please note, you may be restricted to registering at a certain GP based on your address.

If you are an EEA (non UK) or Swiss national you will need to obtain a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) before you arrive in the UK to study. A valid EHIC gives you the right to access the National Health Service (NHS) during your stay. More information on obtaining an EHIC can be found here. If you are not entitled to a EHIC you are advised to obtain private medical insurance.
