Book your space on one of our Student Led Support Groups!

Due to the success of the Inclusive Learning Volunteer scheme, Enabling Services have been able to expand our offering. Student Led Support Groups are a new project for this Academic year. These groups are available to any student who is finding University life difficult for a variety of reasons.

Each group is facilitated by a current student who understand the challenges University can create.  The groups will cover a variety of wellbeing themes, such as Promoting Positive Minds, Coping with Homesickness and Perfectionistic Thinking.  The student facilitator will provide a space for open conversation within the group about techniques and ideas to help your own wellbeing.

We will be offering each topic more than once so if you are unable to attend one date please keep an eye on our events page to find out future dates or contact Enabling Services to discuss this further.

The upcoming groups are ‘Coping with Homesickness’ and are due to take place in the Wellbeing Centre on:

  • Thursday 24th October - 11am - 12pm
  • Wednesday 30th October - 12pm - 1pm

Student Led Support Groups are limited in number to ensure that everyone who attends is able to speak if they wish to.  It is for this reason that we ask you to pre-register for a session by emailing enable@soton.ac.uk

If you are feeling overwhelmed but don’t feel a Student Led Support Group is right for you then have a look at our online workshopsself-help guides or visit a Student Support Drop-in to discuss the other support available.
