This week is Mental Health Awareness Week, and we are focussing on one of the Five Ways to Wellbeing each weekday. One of the five ways is "Keep Learning", so today we are celebrating Thoughtful Thursday.

As a student you are constantly learning, whether that learning is related to academia, or learning new life skills. Mind says “continued learning through life enhances self-esteem and encourages social interaction and a more active life.”

You might find it difficult to make time for further learning, and there is no need to feel like you need to take an evening class or learn a whole new language on top of your degree, but you can find learning opportunities in every day life:

  • Fun fact share – what’s your favourite thing you’ve learnt from your degree? Trade facts with your friends.
  • Follow an online tutorial for a craft activity if you have the materials at home.
  • Skill share with friends - virtually teach them one of your skills and learn one of theirs in return.
  • Online learning opportunities through Linkedin Learning.
  • Online recipe swap - tell your friends your best store cupboard meal ideas and give theirs a try! You might find a new favourite meal.
  • Research a topic you’ve always been curious about.
