As the holidays have now begun, many of you are taking the time to focus on your wellbeing.

Sport and Wellbeing are currently hosting a variety of both online and in-person sporting activities over the winter break through their 'Be Active' programme.

The programme is available for students of any ability with no previous experience required, offering the opportunity to boost your mood, unwind and have some fun. This is completely free or charge and you do not need a membership to take part!

Exercise has numerous health benefits; not only improving your physical health but your mental health too by raising self-esteem and helping you to achieve goals and overcome challenges. The Be Active programme has used elements of the five ways to wellbeing, which is recommended by the NHS and focuses on five key steps to improve mental health.

As the sporting activities are a mixture of both in-person and online, it's a great opportunity for all students; whether you are staying local to Southampton during the break or are travelling home. Take the initiative to improve your wellbeing this winter by being active, learning new skills and connecting with others!
