        Designed for students with a specific learning difference such as Dyslexia, this workshop will explore a range of revision strategies and preparation methods for exams.  The aim of the workshop is to support you to create a revision process which works for you. This can help to build your confidence and reduce overwhelm in the run up to the exam period.  We will discuss strategies for breaking down exam questions and time planning under exam conditions. Although we won't have time to consider all exam types, we will consider how to adapt revision strategies and general exam techniques for short-timed written exams, multiple choice exams and longer timed assessments, such as a 48 hour assessment. In the session, we will explore the common myth that autistic people do not feel empathy. We will look at different types of empathy and how autistic people may experience empathy differently to neurotypical people. This session explores much some of the literature around empathy to help build context to why some people believe autistic people cannot feel empathy.

We will demonstrate active and critical reading strategies, which help you get what you need from text in a way that is efficient, reducing the need to re-read  text multiple times. A little organisation helps to control the pace of your work, without feeling overwhelmed. We will identify techniques for planning your workload, so that you can manage lectures and seminars, meet deadlines, and still have time for leisure and exercise. This workshop will also help you to identify the reasons why you may postpone or avoid study, look in detail at the relationship between procrastination and motivation, and, finally, consider a range of strategies to help get you motivated! There will be opportunities to ask questions related to your own work and share experiences with others, in a small, informal group setting.

In this hour workshop you will make a wall hanging to take home with you and get access to a virtual knot booklet so you can continue to create at home. All materials are provided and no prior knowledge or skill is needed. This is a small workshop of 10 students per session so you will have lots of help from our practitioner. In this session, we will look at practical methods for managing stress and anxiety. We discuss why anxiety often develops for people with autism and what we can do to reduce overall anxiety.

This workshop will explore a range of revision strategies and preparation methods for exams.  The aim of the workshop is to support you to create a revision process which works for you. This can help to build your confidence and reduce overwhelm in the run up to the exam period.  We will discuss strategies for breaking down exam questions and time planning under exam conditions. Although we won't have time to consider all exam types, we will consider how to adapt revision strategies and general exam techniques for short-timed written exams, multiple choice exams and longer timed assessments, such as a 48 hour assessment. We will also explore ways to manage online study through, for example, creating an effective working environment.
