Energy Management in Non-Domestic Buildings - University wins EPSRC funding

The University of Southampton has teamed up with local business OpenSystemSolutions, based in Hamble, to win £500,000.00 funding to provide an innovative low cost system that will save energy by monitoring non-domestic buildings for heat loss via their facades.
The interdisciplinary bid, which came top, was a joint effort between Dr Patrick James from the faculty of engineering and the environment, Professor Alex Rogers, from the faculty of physical sciences and engineering, Dr Carmine Ornaghi, from the faculty of Social and Human Sciences and OpenSystemSolutions, who specialise in delivering sustainable energy savings via building control systems.
