Ibrahim Tugrul Ardic is a Research Assistant in Ship Science and Maritime Engineering at the University of Southampton.

Ibrahim Tugrul Ardic obtained BSc and MSc titles with good honors degree from Istanbul Technical University (ITU). Prior to joining the University of Southampton in July 2021, Mr. Ardic developed hybrid code based on Finite Element (FEM) and Boundary Element Methods (BEM) to determine hydroelastic responses of elastic floating/submerged structures during his postgraduate studies at ITU. He also performed experiments to investigate dynamic response characteristics of cylindrical structures partially filled with fluid. In parallel with these studies, Mr. Ardic published several articles in reputable journals.

Ardic is currently involved in research activities focused on large ship autonomy and developing control pathways.
