Kristian is a Research Fellow in Active Control within the ISVR, which is part of the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences at the University of Southampton.

Kristian completed his PhD at the University of Southampton in 2021, where he studied the integration of active vibration control into acoustic black hole structures. Prior to this, Kristian graduated from the University of Bath with a BSc in Physics and the University of Surrey with an MMus in Composition.

He is continuing his work at the University of Southampton as part of the Intelligent Structures for Low Noise Environments team (ISLNE).

Research interests

Kristian’s research interests focus on the control of sound and vibration through the use of acoustic black holes and active control. This currently includes:

  • Modelling and testing the design and placement of acoustic black holes in various structures.
  • Investigating the use of different active control strategies to reduce undesired noise and vibration.
