Dr Mehmet Ali Erbil is a Research Fellow within Engineering and Physical Sciences at the University of Southampton.

Dr Erbil is a researcher in unmanned systems and has been in the field for over 10 years. His work varies from multirotor systems, fixed wings, and hybrid systems.

Improving the Perching Capability of a Vertical Take-off and Landing Unmanned Aerial Vehicle through Reconfiguration. 

Research Projects

Mehmet has also been involved in the design of the SPOTTER UAV; a 35 kg maximum take-off weight research unmanned aerial vehicle design at the University of Southampton that exploits additive manufacturing.

Solent Future Transport Zone

The Solent FTZ is a multidisciplinary research and development project undertaken in collaboration with the University of Portsmouth and Solent Transport, comprising Southampton City Council, Portsmouth City Council, Isle of Wight Council, and Hampshire County Council. Theme 1 on passenger mobility is led by Professor John Preston and Theme 2 on Sustainable Urban Freight is led by Professor Tom Cherrett.
