Dr Murat Kara is Visiting Postdoctoral Researcher in Dynamics Group of Institute of Sound and Vibration Research, the University of Southampton.

He studied on the analysis of vibrating structures having uncertainties with different methodologies. In this regard, the used methods include Statistical Energy Analysis, Finite Element Method, Discrete Singular Convolution, Polynomial Chaos Expansion, Statistical Moment Analysis. He utilized the mentioned methods for the analysis of isotropic and laminated plates, stepped beams, acoustical transmission lines, etc.

Research project(s)

Vibration Analysis of Connected Local Uncertain Geometries via Wave Finite Element (WFE) method and Polynomial Chaos Expansion (PCE)

Realistic and effective engineering methods should predict the response of connected local uncertain geometries (acronym "BLokBelGe" in Turkish) with low computational time and memory requirements. This project aims to develop an efficient methodology that is able to perform the vibration analysis of BLokBelGe.
