Fish and invertebrate ecology, long-tern data. Effects of land uses and contamination on streams and river ecosystems, river management and ecology, history of river pollution and ecology, ecology of water uses by industry. Effects of temperature and thermal alterations on river ecology.

Effects of forestry on river ecosystems, shade, wood debris and restoration, Historical ecology of the River Trent basin and other polluted rivers, Ecology of Lincolnshire rivers, prediction of ecological status from historic data, Effects of river management on chalk stream ecology, shade and restoration, ecohydraulics of invertebrates.
Experience
Aquatic ecology in relation to human impacts, 30 years of power industry ecology and environment, aquatic ecology research, fish biology and fisheries, invertebrate ecology, pollution assessment, (biological), fish problems at water intakes and thermal discharges, environmental impact assessment (terrestrial and aquatic), water quality, ecological effects of land and water contamination, effects of shade on fish and invertebrates. 20 years in academia, research on forest streams and chalk streams, large rivers. Fish communities in inshore waters.
