I am presently a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in the Dynamics Section of the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research of the University of Southampton. I am on a 12-month sabbatical leave from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) in Brazil, where I am an Associate Professor.

My project involves the use of focussed vibration waves to remove accreted material in structures.

I am interested in using sound and vibration waves to increase the operational safety of critical structures.

Associate Professor – Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Brazil.

PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College London.

Project leader and Principal Researcher in more than 15 research projects with industrial partners in the oil and gas and aerospace industries, and in the area of non-destructive inspection and structural health monitoring (SHM).
