Dr Wei Zhang is a Specialist Technical Officer within Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences at the University of Southampton.

Monitoring and Assessment in University of Southampton in 2008 and has been working as research technician then specialist technical officer since then. In 2020 she was awarded her PhD for work on The Impact of Nitrogen Control Strategies and Biopackaging Degradation on the Implementation of the Anaerobic Digestion of Selected MSW Fractions by University of Southampton.

She is currently working for the project on Developing the potential for CO2 capture and utilisation in hybrid anaerobic digesters and had worked on a number of projects on biomethanisation of CO2 in anaerobic digestion, valorisation of food waste to biogas and anaerobic degradation of renewable plastics etc.

Her research interests are metabolic pathways of Methanogens, impact of nitrogen in anaerobic digestion, application of molecular techniques in anaerobic digestion and bioinformatics etc.
