Postgraduates hop to Ringwood Brewery

Published: 24 June 2010

Over 30 postgraduate students from the School of Engineering Sciences recently took a trip to the popular Market Town of Ringwood in the New Forest to find out more about Ringwood Brewery.

The students had the opportunity to learn more about its history of the brewery which was founded in 1978 with the opening its first brewhouse was in a former bakery in the old station yard.  Today Ringwood Brewery is able to produce circa 40,000 barrels of its renowned and distinctive beers which are served in pubs across Hampshire.

They were then given a tour of the brewery which encompassed the full brewing process, starting with tasting the malted barleys and the hops, through to viewing the fermentation process in the TunRoom to bottling.

After the tour around the brewery section, the students had the opportunity to sample the different beers produced in the brewery's private bar area and network with their peers.
