Published: 6 April 2011

Aeronautics and Astronautics student, Mohassin Shah has been provisionally picked to represent team GB at a kick boxing competition in Estonia.

Mohassin started sanda kickboxing just over a year ago and is now training with the Head Judge for Europe who is also on the team GB selection panel.

To secure his place on the GB team Mohassin will need to compete and win in the forthcoming national competitions in May. He has already won a few competitions, taking the silver medal at the latest competition.

Mohassin comments: “For me it feels a great success to be able to represent my country and I feel that the ring is where I can prove myself.”

He adds: “Sometimes it’s tough to fit in training around my Uni work and social life I find that one suffers when I’m doing of the others but when my work load is lighter things are much more manageable.”
