Putting engineering theory into practice in West Africa
Engineering students are making a difference to people in the village of Bambouti in Cameroon by using their skills to support local builders in several projects and raising the money to turn plans into reality.
Helped by academic staff at the University of Southampton, the students have designed a medical centre, school and workshop - the 2013 project will be to bring electricity to this rural community.
Their hard work has been recognised by the High Commissioner for Cameroon, His Excellency Nkwelle Ekaney who visited the University to meet the students.
