Engineering student impresses on placement

Third year Mechanical Engineering student Sam Johnstone did so well on his placement with consultancy Sagentia, he has been offered a job by the company and a bursary during his final year at University.

“I enjoyed my time with the company over the summer and I am delighted to be joining them when my time at the University of Southampton is over,” he says.
Dr Anna Barney, Associate Dean (Education) in Engineering and the Environment says: “Many congratulations to Sam. We’re always really pleased when our students in the Faculty impress future employers. I believe the competition was quite strong in this case so he has done really well.”
Sagentia is a global innovation, technology and product development company based in Cambridge. It provides outsourced R&D consultancy services to businesses ranging from start ups through to global market leaders in the medical, industrial and consumer sectors.
