Event details
Driving resource efficiency in products, processes and business models are now key issues for policy makers and businesses. Central to this is moving towards a Circular Economy and away from the traditional industrial model where waste is considered the norm. The EU-FP7-project “ZeroWIN – Towards Zero Waste in Industrial Networks” developed integrated industrial symbiotic systems in which waste is considered to be a resource. By exchanging industrial by-products, energy, water and materials between sectors, waste from one industry becomes raw material for another.
‘Circular Economy & Industrial Networks' is a free event that will draw on the conclusions from the ZeroWIN project and in particular the lessons learnt from ten industrial case studies that concentrated on industrial networks in the automotive, construction, electronics and photovoltaic industries.
The ZeroWIN consortium has 30 partners from 11 countries (Austria, Germany, Spain, France, Hungary, Ireland, Poland, Portugal, Romania, the United Kingdom and Taiwan) and is coordinated by the Austrian Society for Systems Engineering and Automation (SAT).
