Event details

Electro-Mechanical Engineering Seminar Series

Thick-film technology offers a competitive solution to some of the expensive environmental monitoring devices currently available, through the manufacture of cheap and robust sensors in the thick film process. Additionally thick-film technology is able to implement electrochemical technology in the sensor design as a cost effective miniaturisation technique. The work presented in this seminar will focus on the development of novel sensors for water quality sampling that are suitable for deployment in remote catchment areas. The talk will describe recent work on novel thick-film screen printed (Ag/AgCl) silver-silver chloride reference electrodes, these offer an alternative to the liquid electrolyte filled commercial silver-silver chloride (Ag/AgCl) reference electrodes.
