Event details

ISVR Engineering Research Seminar series

The premium motor industry is highly competitive. As a consequence, there is the need to maintain a strong brand identity to connect with the customer on an emotional level. The sound of the engine is engineered to communicate the image of the vehicle.

The means by which the desired sound is defined is discussed in this seminar and key mechanisms which control the character of engine noise are described. An approach to analyse the interaction between the engine and the vehicle is reviewed to illustrate how the mechanisms can be manipulated to achieve the desired sound."
