Abstract:

Structure-borne sound theory focuses on structural dynamic research in view of sound wave. Based on the structural acoustics theory, the acoustic-structure interaction model is applied to study the characteristics of vibrational energy flow and sound radiation. In the traditional fluid-structure coupling model, the fluid is regarded as incompressible and the effect of the fluid is equal to added mass. Otherwise, the fluid is regarded as compressible and sound waves exist, the sound pressure is taken as dynamic load applying in the structures in the acoustic-structure interaction model. Then the characteristics of structural dynamic and sound radiation can be studied through resolving the coupling system. This approach has been applied to: vibro-acoustic characteristics analysis of cylindrical shell submerged in the free sound field (without reflection), the critical load forecasting of underwater cylindrical shell based on the vibro-acoustic model, the vibro-acoustic characteristics analysis of complex coupling system (e.g. arbitrary thickness of damping layer, buried pipe, shells submerged in viscous fluid), the vibro-acoustic characteristics analysis of immersed or floated cylindrical shells with the existence of a free surface. Moreover, the vibrational energy flow models of the typical damage structures are established and structural damage identification methods are also presented with the visual graphs of the structural sound intensity of the damage structures demonstrated.
