Event details

Over the last 25 years I have worked in the field of noise and vibration consultancy.

I will attempt to give a feel for the lot of a jobbing noise and vibration consultant and how it has kept me entertained for quite so long. I will end up looking at my current role and the work of ISVR Consulting.

Speaker information

Simon Roberts, ISVR Conulsting. Simon Roberts obtained a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Southampton and then worked for 8 years in engine development at Jaguar cars. During this period he did an MSc at ISVR in Automotive Design Technology and started to focus on noise and vibration. He then moved to MIRA (Motor Industry research Association) to work in the NVH dept, working on vehicle development programmes for vehicle manufacturers. After a few years, Simon ended up running the methodologies development area, mainly working on TPA, OMA and hybrid modelling methods. In 2002 Simon left MIRA to start a small consultancy business, mainly working in the automotive NVH field, and this continued until he joined ISVR Consulting in 2012 to ‘broaden my horizons’.
