Why did you choose to study at the University of Southampton?
The University of Southampton is renowned for its international community and multi-cultural atmosphere with an award-winning beautiful campus. It's accommodation and facilities are also convenient, offering an attractive environment to me as an international student. The degree programmes in both science (Chemistry BSc for my undergraduate degree) and engineering are top ranking in the UK and around the world.
What were your first impressions of the University of Southampton?
Friendly staff and efficient admin procedures.
What is your favourite spot on campus?
The hidden Valley Gardens behind the Students' Union building.
What has been your proudest accomplishment while you were in Southampton?
To serve as the coordinator of FEE Buddy Scheme (2016/17), managing a team of 50 which offers support to first year students and helps them settle in the first few months of university life.
What will you do with your degree after you have finished your studies?
I am confident that I will be able to use the advanced skills I have built up at the University of Southampton to seek more involvement with industry or with academics around the world.
Do you have any stories about your time in Southampton or a happy memory you want to share?
I went on a few away trips with the Hiking Society, as it is one of my favourite ways to travel around when the land is unfamiliar. I started to realise that Southampton is conveniently located for access to many attractions in UK, and I will never forget seeing shooting stars over the crystal clear night sky when we were camping out near Brecon Beacons in Wales.
Is there anything else you would like to say?
There is so much to experience in Southampton, and the University has a very friendly environment for international students. All you need to do is to open up and look out for the opportunities. Always be prepared and be willing to explore.
