Mr Andrea Sansica
Postgraduate research student with the AFM group
Mr Andrea Sansica is a Postgraduate research student with the AFM group within Engineering and Physical Sciences at the University of Southampton.
I received my Masters Degree in Aerospace Engineering at La Sapienza University in Rome (Italy) in 2011, specialising in space propulsion. In 2012 I attained a Master by Research degree at Cranfield University, working on electrical and chemical propulsion systems to remove space-debris from low-Earth orbit.
Currently I am a PhD student at the University of Southampton and am working on direct numerical simulation for supersonic flows, with my main interest in transition due to interactions between shock waves and laminar boundary layers. At present, I am collaborating with the Aerodynamics and Flight Mechanics group, and participating at the 7th European Framework Programme for the TFAST Project, about transition location effect on shock wave/boundary-layer interaction.
