Fatih Yanar has his Bachelor’s degree from Biology, Pamukkale University and Master’s degree from Molecular Medicine, Istanbul University in Turkey. He has experience both theoretical and practical in the field of genetics and molecular cell biology. Now he is a PhD student within Engineering and Physical Sciences and studying with Bioengineering group under the supervision of Dr. Xunli Zhang, Dr. Dario Carugo and Dr Eugen Stulz in University of Southampton. Besides he is doing a PhD in Department of Molecular Medicine at Istanbul University Institute of Experimental Medicine. Today he is studying in nanobiotechnology field that allows him to gain theoretical and practical experience especially in developing new technologies for drug delivery by merging his background with nanotechnology.

Research interests

  • To design and synthesize nanoparticles which can be loaded with pharmaceutical actives using conventional batch reactors and more advanced continuous flow reactors.
  • Further modification of the nanoparticle that can be formed such a nanomedicine to be delivered to targeted region.
  • To characterize the uptake and interactions of such nanomedicine with relevant selected cell lines.
