Giulia graduated with a Master Degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University ‘’La Sapienza” of Rome (2012). The topic of her thesis was neuronal modelling of Tinnitus. During a research experience in the ‘’Fondazione Santa Lucia’’ in Rome (2013) she specialised in EEG signal processing and brain connectivity analysis working on Microsleeps detection.

In 2013 she joined the Signal Processing & Control Group for a PhD project under the supervision of Steven Bell, David Simpson and David Smith. Her project focuses on brain connectivity analysis of anaesthesia and sleep.
