Optimization of Tidal Turbine Blades

Supervisor: Dr. Luke Myers

sponsor: SENER-CONACYT

Research group

Sustainable Energy

The aim of the project is to identify key areas in the design of marine turbines that can be improved to optimise the overall performance of them. In order to achieve this, computer simulations and physical experiments, using prototypes machined in-house, will be carried out working in collaboration with Atlantis Resources Limited.

Workshops and laboratory demonstrations for the following modules:

FEEG1003 - Thermo Fluids

SESS2015 - Hydrodynamics and Seakeeping

CENV2008 - Hydraulics

GENG0001 - Mathematics

FEEG1004 - Electronics
