Ugur Mutlu is a Postgraduate research student for Engineering and Physical Sciences at the University of Southampton.

His research area focuses on the composite materials. Application of composite materials to the submarines and surface vessels, reliability of composite structures and damage properties are the main research topics. His PhD project investigates the multiscale damage properties of composite stiffened plates.

He graduated from Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering Faculty, Istanbul Technical University in 2010 (Hons) and obtained Master degree in 2013 from same faculty. He worked as an engineer for the sailing yacht design and production with composite materials.
