Soon after, she obtained an MSc in Mechatronics from the University of Southampton in 2015. After completion of her Masters with a Distinction, Wahida went back to Bangladesh and joined as a Lecturer in her alma mater North South University where she taught Electrical and Electronic Engineering Undergraduates. During this time, she was also the Branch Counselor for IEEE North South University Student Branch.

Wahida currently is a PhD student at the Faculty of Engineering and the Environment in the Mechatronics Research Group under Dr. Xize Niu’s supervision. Her goal is to develop sensor systems based on droplet microfluidics for continuous monitoring of biomarkers.

Research interests

  • Droplet Microfluidics
  • Lab on Chip
  • Portable/ Wearable Sensors
