Mr Yangzi Guo is a Postgraduate research student within Engineering and Physical Sciences at the University of Southampton.

Yangzi Guo received his bachelor’s degree in Automobile Engineering in 2012 at Jilin University in China. Then he received a master’s degree in Unmanned Vehicle System Design in 2013 at University of Southampton. He moved onto a PhD working on communication for Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) in the same institution.

Research interests

My PhD research project focuses on development of communication strategy for small remotely piloted aircraft (RPA) operation in GPS-denied environment and beyond line of sight (BLoS) distance.
My research interests are:

  • Wireless communication.
  • RPA Swarm.
  • Antenna design.
  • Transceiver study.
  • Network construction.
