Research project: Development of models for the prediction of fan broadband noise

Currently Active:
Yes

Research project

This is an ongoing project aimed at developing semi-empirical models for the prediction of rotor wake interaction noise in modern turbofan engines. Recent work has focused on the efficient implementation of existing cascade codes. The prediction method is continually being validated against Rolls-Royce engine data.
