Research project: Enhanced Performance of Sandwich Structures by Improved Damage Tolerance (SANTIGUE2)

Currently Active:

The overarching aim of the project is to devise experimental and analytical techniques to establish the multi-mode fracture characteristics of sandwich plate structures and establish a means for introducing damage tolerance by inhibiting defect propagation.

Our role is the definition of new testing methodologies based on full-field imaging approaches to enable monitoring of fatigue crack growth at bi and tri-material interfaces.
