Research project: No-flow rig tests of turbofan ducts in ISVR no-flow facility

Currently Active:
Yes

to be confirmed

Project Overview

The ISVR no-flow test facility is a 395mm diameter, 5m long steel duct to which a range of duct test pieces with differing geometry and / or acoustic liners can be attached. Acoustic excitation can be either broadband, with equal energy in each cut-on mode, or tonal with any specified circumferential mode in the range -14 < m < 14. Both circular and annular geometries can be accommodated. ISVR has recently tested a model engine inlet suplied by GKN and a selection of bypass geometries supplied by Bombardier as part of the SYMPHONY project.
