Jake Goldsmith MEng Mechanical Engineering

Hi, I'm Jake Goldsmith and I studied MEng Mechanical Engineering within Engineering and the Environment at the University of Southampton.

I worked at Airbus in Bristol in the Research and Technology - Manufacturing Department working on improvements to the manufacting process. I greatly enjoyed my time there and could not recommend highly enough for students to do an industrial placement.

I greatly enjoyed my time there and could not recommend highly enough for students to do an industrial placement. My contract was extended to include the summer holiday (totalling 14 months employment) and I was given a pay rise for this additional time. I learnt a lot about wing design and manufacture and visited several plants including lots of trips to subcontractors.
