AHRC Early Career Fellowship awarded in English

Marianne O’Doherty (English) has been awarded an AHRCouncil Early Career Fellowship to work on her monograph, The Indies and the Medieval West: Thought, Report, Imagination . The monograph, due to be published by Brepols in 2012, will examine medieval western European contacts with and representations of the Indian Ocean region during the period 1250-1500. This new project complements the Southampton-based AHRC-funded project The Indian Ocean: Narratives in Literature and Law . The Fellowship will run from January to June 2011.
