A workshop at The Nuffield Theatre explored effective ways to teach Shakespeare to young people.

The workshop, entitled Playing with Shakespeare, was aimed at teachers of Shakespeare in primary, secondary and tertiary education and took place on 5 July 2011.

Ros King, Professor of English Studies and author of Shakespeare: A Beginner's Guide, encouraged teachers to enjoy working with Shakespeare's language. They analysed text and discussed ways of teaching the plays to young people more effectively.

Artistic Director of The Nuffield Theatre, Patrick Sandford also demonstrated some dramatic techniques for getting the most out of the bard's work. You can find out more about the workshop by clicking on the podcast link to the right of this page.
