We're living through hysterical times as history seems, once again, to be repeating as farce.  If you live any kind of life online then you'll have almost certainly felt the pressure to be continually witty, but who exactly is laughing now?  With reference to Jewish comedy as well as a number of other topical examples, this talk will examine the relationship between politics, history and joking.
