To undertake postgraduate study in English you will need to meet the following criteria.
We expect candidates to have achieved, or be predicted, an upper second class honours degree, or equivalent, in a relevant subject.
We expect candidates to have a relevant postgraduate masters degree or equivalent.
International students applying to study towards the MA in Medieval and Renaissance Culture, Eighteenth-century Studies, Creative Writing, English Literary Studies, or Twentieth- and Twenty-first-century Literature need an IELTS average of 7 (or equivalent) to be accepted onto the programme. Your test score needs to have been attained within the past 2 years. International students may apply for entry onto a postgraduate programme before fulfilling the formal English language requirement. In this case, you may be offered a place on condition that you achieve the required English language test score before the course begins in early October.
