Our staff are leaders in research in their respective fields and experienced teachers at all levels.
The project is led by Professor Ros King, Head of English at Southampton. She has over 20 years' experience of teaching Shakespeare workshops in schools and is the author of ‘Shakespeare: a Beginner's Guide' (Oneworld:2011).
Dr Stephen Morton, the project leader for the International Writing in Schools module, both teaches and has written widely on post-colonial literature. His publications include ‘Salman Rushdie: Fictions of Postcolonial Modernity' (Basingstoke: 2007).
The Holocaust Literature module is led by Dr James Jordan who teaches Holocaust literature and history. Dr Jordan is also co-editor of ‘Holocaust Studies: A Journal of Culture and History', an innovative and interdisciplinary journal which explores the history and memory of the Nazi persecution and mass murder of the Jews and other Nazi genocides.
Stewart Smith is the project co-ordinator of the teachers' network. Currently doing a PhD in modernist literature and nihilism, he has several years' experience of teaching English in secondary schools.
