Research interests

My thesis project is called ‘The development of South Korean Art Cinema since the 1990s: An analysis of the films by Kim Ki-duk, Lee Chang-dong, and Hong Sang-soo.’

My project focuses on three representative art cinema directors. Drawing on a variety of concepts concerning global art cinema and transnational cinema, my thesis analyses the diversity of aesthetic approaches in contemporary South Korean cinema.
