Research interests

With regards to the remarkable importance of film music, my research project focuses on how film music is able to help express enigmatic ideas in films, which will be investigated in three representations of enigmas – the inexplicable, religion, the paranormal. When different forms and styles of music has the capacity to add to or enhance enigma in films, the textures of particular film music can also influence the effectiveness of enigmatic expression of films. Furthermore, different types of relationships between sound and image also play their roles in registering enigmatic themes. My research, concerning audio-visual manifestations in film, will also lead to further discussions about concrete cultural ideas or ideological contents, based upon specific society and culture.
