Research interests

My research focuses on genre based representations of the refugee child figure in European cinema. This topic is relevant and timely as Europe is facing its biggest refugee crisis since World War II, the research aims to explore the relation between the political power of cinema and of children in cinema through their representation in different genres.

Further research interest are more generally children in cinema, migration cinema, encounter with the Other and representation.
