Ms Anne Hogan is Lecturer in Film at the University of Southampton.

I have taught Film at Southampton University since 2006.  I have a BA in English and History from the University of Birmingham, an MA in English from Liverpool University, and an MA in Arts Criticism and Management from City University, London.

I have a particular interest in developing links between the Film department and both local and national cultural organisations, such as the British Film Institute.

Research interests

I have co-edited and contributed chapters to two books on issues surrounding the representation of gender in Victorian culture.

My specialist interests in Film include: British cinema, and industry studies: in particular, in the area of film festivals, and the marketing, distribution and exhibition of independent film.

On the undergraduate film programme, I am a tutor for core film module:

Introduction to Hollywood.  I am also the Module Convenor for the second year optional module - British Contemporary Filmmakers - and also for the third year Film Dissertation Module.

I contribute to the MA Film Studies and Film and Cultural Management programmes in my role as Convenor for the popular module: Current Issues in Film Distribution and Exhibition.

I supervise both BA and MA dissertations.

I have also been involved, as the Film Academic representative, in developing the film programme for the Humanities' Summer School.
