Miruna Potop BA Film Studies 2013

Hi, I'm Miruna Potop and I studied BA Film Studies within Humanities at the University of Southampton.

I have already recommended the programme to others. It’s very good academically and it’s the kind of place where you want to develop your studies.

Why did you come to Southampton to study?

I knew friends from high-school who went to Southampton. Also, looking at the league tables Southampton was the best option for me, as well as being close to London.

What have been the highlights of your time here?

One of the highlights for me was becoming the president of the Romanian society, which was really challenging.

Would you recommend the programme to others?

I have already recommended the programme to others. It’s very good academically and it’s the kind of place where you want to develop your studies.

What are your ambitions for the future?

I’ve just been accepted for a Master’s degree at Goldsmiths, University of London. I’m hoping to then become a copy writer – perhaps the female version of Don Draper from Mad Men.

What do you think about the teaching you recieved?

The teaching at Southampton is very good. We had loads of inspirational teachers, and the advantage of being on a small course meant we all got to know each other.
