Song Pan Utz - Senior Manager, Faculty International Office

Song Pan Utz is well-experienced in business development in local and international markets. Her particular strength lies in nurturing business relationships with executive-level customers by understanding their needs in the context of their cultural environment. She has applied this approach successfully to business development, marketing, contract negotiation, and implementation. Ms. Utz was responsible for the Chinese market penetration strategy of Atlantix Global Systems, a leading international provider of IT solutions with several hundred million USD in annual revenue. In this capacity, she built a network of business partners spanning 12 countries, resulting in more than $15m in annual revenue. She received numerous accolades, including the company’s president award.

After graduating with an MBA from Georgetown University in 2010 and obtaining the necessary brokerage licenses, she joined the financial advisory team at Morgan Stanley, where she had acquired and managed private and business investment portfolios, providing tailored solutions to her clients’ needs.

After moving to the United Kingdom in 2012, Ms. Utz joined the University of Southampton. She is currently working as the Senior Executive Officer of Faculty International Office at Faculty of Social Sciences, which includes Southampton Business School, Law School, School of Mathematical Sciences, School of Education and School of Economic, Social and Political Sciences. Ms. Utz aspires to contribute to higher education and to empower students and academics from various cultural backgrounds to meaningfully connect and exchange. She leads the Faculty International Office in the implementation of the Faculty International strategy. She supports the Faculty in all areas of global engagement, including global market expansion and recruitment, developing and maintaining educational and research partnerships and improving international student experience. 

Ms. Utz has travelled extensively to over 60 countries on five continents. She brings a solid global perspective to her business practice. In leisure time, Ms. Utz enjoys drawing and painting. She is known for her published lyrics for the Chinese top pop singer Wei Wei. A regular dancer, she is also well-connected in the Argentine tango communities.
