Welcome Dinner 26th October: A Great Success

The Welcome Dinner for our newly arrived Partnership students on the 26th October was a great success.

For this year's annual Welcome Dinner, we were lucky enough to welcome a number of prestigious academics to speak to the students and provide hands on advice and guidance regarding studying at the University of Southampton. This included Professor Derek McGhee, Head of Social Sciences, Mark Cranshaw, Head of the Faculty International Partnerships Office, Dr Jan Podivinsky, Head of Economics, and Dr Emanuela Lotti, Lecturer in Economics. Also in attendance were Song Utz, Manager of FIPO, and Meng Zhan, the students' personal advisor.

Helped by food provided by FIPO, the Welcome Dinner gives students a chance to meet their lecturers informally and get their advice personally. It also gives the students a chance to meet each other - something they may not be able to do otherwise as our Partnerships span a variety of different courses and academic units.

A big thank you to everyone who came along to the dinner, it was a great success and it was lovely to see so many of you there! We hope you enjoyed meeting with friends and making new ones.
