Delhi Conversion Event
On the afternoon of the 15th January, the delegation from the University of Southampton hosted an Open Day Education and Alumni Reception Event at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi India. The open day was attended by prospective students, alumni and partner institutions. This is the first open day event hosted by the faculty within India and was an excellent opportunity to promote the research impact, study programmes, and enterprise activities of the University internationally.
The open day commenced with a welcome presentation in which the attendees were given an Introduction to the University and was followed with a lively Q&A session with faculty staff. The discussions covered a diverse range of subjects including:
- Study programmes and scholarship/bursary opportunities
- Social Impact and Social Enterprise Programmes
- Careers and placement
- International students pastoral support and engagement
Throughout the event, the prospective applicants in attendance were provided with one-to-one student consultations with faculty staff and were able to ask any questions about life and learning in Southampton. The event also provided the opportunity for the UoS alumni in attendance to reconnect. It was highly successful in strengthening existing partnerships with institutions and agents in India.
