Representatives from the University of Southampton enjoyed a productive visit to O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) last week.
Prof. Sabu Padmadas, Associate Dean International (Social Sciences); Prof. Martin Broad, Head of Southampton Business School; Prof. Martin Dyke, Head of Southampton Education School; Prof. Tim Bergfelder, Professor of Film; and Ms Song Utz, Senior Manager of the Faculty International Office (Social Sciences), met with Prof. (Dr.) C. Raj Kumar, Founding Vice Chancellor of JGU, as well as Deans and International Office colleagues from JGU.
Founded in 2009, JGU has risen in just ten years to become one of the top 10 private institutions in India, with eight schools and three research and capacity institutes. Vice Chancellor Kumar and Founding Chancellor Naveen Jindal are now looking ahead to the University’s next ten years, and their hope to fulfil the University’s founding vision – ‘to create a future where our students and faculty find passion and fulfilment in helping build a just, fair and equitable social consciousness’. JGU has an existing exchange agreement with Southampton Law School.
The University of Southampton delegation had a successful meeting with JGU, discussing the potential for future beneficial collaboration between the two universities in both education and research. They look forward to continuing to develop this exciting partnership.
