On 17th January 2019, the Chandragupt Institute of Management Patna (CIMP), hosted a Global Leadership full day conference which they organised with Southampton Business School. The purpose of the conference was for academic staff and representatives from the University of Southampton to meet with CIMP Director Dr V Mukunda Das and esteemed guests including creative thinker and writer Dr Prasad Sundararajan to discuss the complex ethical and organisational challenges that leaders face in an uncertain business world.

The day commenced with an opening address delivered by CIMP Director Dr V Mukunda Das, in which he defined leaders as innovators and discussed how leadership styles can change in personal, professional, political, and public life. This was followed by an address on “Leading multi-generational organizations” by Professor Paul Bennett (Director of Enterprise and Executive Education, Southampton Business School) in which he stated that leaders face challenges in managing the varied expectations of different generations that are working together within organisations.

In the afternoon, Professor Martin Broad (Head of Southampton Business School), later engaged with other attendees in a lively and thought provoking panel discussion on the subject “In pursuit of responsible leadership”.
