The Faculty International Office was delighted to be asked to host a campus visit by participants of the JOYN Program on 26th September 2019.

After introductions, Prof Sabu Padmadas, Associate Dean International of Social Sciences, and Song Pan Utz, Senior Manager of the Faculty International Office of Social Sciences, gave a lively talk about the University and surrounding city. Song and Sabu really enjoyed receiving lots of interaction from the participants!

Prof Athina Vlachantoni, Lecturer of Gerontology and Social Policy, then gave a taster lecture on the subject of Global Aging. Athina was pleased that the participants engaged with the subject and was very happy to answer their questions.

After the talks, Faculty International Officer’s Katie Bizley and Miriam Gómez López took the participants on a tour of the beautiful Highfield Campus grounds, answering many questions along the way!

This was followed by eating a delicious lunch together, provided by FIO, which allowed the discussion to continue and was very much appreciated by our guests.

The FIO staff really enjoyed the opportunity to engage with and inspire young minds. Please follow this link for more information about JOYN.
